Experience Ralphy's Retreat
A Sanctuary to Snout About!
Founded in 2003, when we took in our first rescued horse, Ralphy's Retreat is a registered not for profit animal sanctuary in beautiful Wyebridge, Ontario.
Our mission is to provide a safe haven for abandoned, neglected, and abused pot-bellied pigs, as well as those piggies that can no longer stay with their families. Our sanctuary is also home to aplacas, horses, donkeys, cats, feathered friends, goats and dogs,
We work hard to increase public awareness of the treatment of animals, and provide humane education programs to children and adult groups. We are also proud to offer human-animal experiences to individuals, families, and community groups.

Avian Flu in Ontario
It is with heavy hearts that we let you know that we must remain closed to non-essential visitors until the situation with Avian Flu is more stable.
We are working closely with our vet and taking every precaution possible to protect our flock.
Please bear with us as we make all the necessary changes to make our Sanctuary safe for everyone.
After two years of lock-downs and limited visitors, this is the last thing we need, but our babies come first. We look forward to sharing our beautiful new home with you soon

We are committed to providing long-term sanctuary to pot-bellied pigs and farm animals who have been abandoned, abused or neglected. We also work with families who can no longer care for their beloved pet pig, offering long-term stays and rehoming services. Where possible we provide support and advice to keep piggies in their homes. We typically have about 100 pigs in our care at any given time, including those in foster homes.
Our sanctuary extends to humans too through workshops and animal interaction programs.
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with this challenge. Education is something that we take very seriously, and our team is working each and every day to make a positive impact. Contact us to learn more about our sanctuary tours and off-site visits.
At Ralphy's Retreat Animal Sanctuary, we are dedicated to working with our community. We provide animal-assisted interactions to children and adults, and work closely with agencies supporting these individuals. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
